This is a model of a SpaceX pre-production Falcon 9 two-stage rocket of 1/25th scale. The Falcon 9 rocket stands at 230 feet in height, 12 feet in diameter, and more than 600 tons in weight. Its first stage can land vertically on Earth making it a game-changer in the aerospace industry. Falcon 9 was the first commercial rocket to carry humans to space, and by 2022, had become the U.S. rocket with the most launches in history.
The recovery and reuse of this rocket (first stage) have significantly lowered the costs of space travel, which has played a major role in SpaceX's success as a private aerospace company. It also allowed for a higher frequency of launches, and it paved the way for commercial partnerships between NASA and other organizations.
