This sock from Owlet Baby Care was used to monitor a baby’s heartbeat and oxygen levels while they slept via a Bluetooth connection to the parent or guardian’s phone. It used pulse oximetry, which measures the oxygen saturation in the blood by shining light at specific wavelengths through tissue, in order to obtain vital measurements. The Smart Sock 2 was discontinued and has been replaced by the Dream Sock, which was cleared by the FDA.
