The ZERO1 football helmet from Vicis has a flexible outer shell which deforms upon impact, and an internal layer of flexible columns. These features absorb the forces at the point of contact before they reach the athlete’s head, helping prevent concussions and other injuries. The Vicis helmet has been worn by athletes such as Patrick Mahomes, quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs. The ZERO1 was included in TIME magazine’s Best Inventions of 2019.
