Object Description: Miniature wooden lectern with flat, angled top surface for displaying Bible. The lecturn is stained a honey brown color, with carved details painted gold, white, blue, and red. Three carved faces are arranged in a triangluar pattern on vertical back panel of lecturn, as well as two angles with wings in profile.

This miniature prie-dieu (which resembles a lectern) is found in the Chapel of the Fairy Castle and is used to support the Bible. Traditionally, prie-dieus are commonly used for sermons and scripture readings in churches. It is delicately carved with the faces of three cherubim.
