Three miniature chairs representing the three chairs from the story “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” (Papa Bear, Mama Bear, and Baby Bear) are found in the Great Hall of the Fairy Castle and mounted together on a base under a glass dome. Made from balsa wood, the chairs are small enough to sit on the heads of pins with the largest chair weighing 150,000th of an ounce.
The Great Hall with floating staircase is a grand room with many treasures. The floor is composed of ivory carved with rose vines which carry up onto the great pillars supporting the ceiling. The ceiling includes domes painted by Helga Brabon of characters from fairytales of both the Grimm brothers and Hans Christian Anderson. The Great Hall includes many hanging wall paintings as well as many rare treasures gathered from around the world.
