The Mayflower is well-known for carrying a group of English Pilgrims to an area located in present-day Massachussetts in 1620. Seeking religious freedom, they embarked on a difficult voyage that lasted over two months. Despite facing harsh weather, disease, and limited supplies, the Mayflower arrived in present-day Plymouth, where they established Plymouth Colony.
