The specialty lenses in EnChroma® Color Blind Glasses were initially designed to protect surgeons’ eyes from lasers. A chance wearing by someone who is colorblind, led to the discovery that the glasses allowed him to see colors he had never seen before. For people with red-green colorblindness – a condition in which they have difficulty distinguishing between the two colors, these glasses help wearers to see both these colors by selectively filtering light to increase the contrast between red and green.
