In the early days of automobiles, gasoline was delivered by horse-drawn tankers. This 1,000-gallon tanker has several compartments and delivered both gasoline for cars and kerosene for home use. It operated in the Baltimore area around 1917. By then, there were nearly 6 million motor vehicles on American roads. This wagon was part of the American Oil Company (Amoco) fleet.
